Shankill Mission Project
Catalyst For Positive change
The Shankill Road Mission building is of great architectural merit and is important historically to this area of Belfast -telling a tale of its past and now hoping to grow its future.
The project can act as the catalyst required in this part of the city, which is in great need of rejuvenation and which can lead to economic and social growth, as well as increasing tourism trade in the greater North and West Belfast areas.
The local communities in search for work will benefit through structured education and training programmes, leading to

Goals
- Renewal of a building that will animate an important city streetscape
- Provide a home for a vibrant and economically important social economy enterprise project
- Provide education and training of traditional heritage skills during construction
- Provide employment, education and appropriate skills on an ongoing legacy basis
- Promote the value of education, training and lifelong learning in an area where the formal education system has been spectacularly failing many
- Enhance the overall tourism product and marketing of the Shankill, North and West Belfast, and the city as a whole
- Be a catalyst for private investment and economic regeneration in an area of multiple deprivation
- The project sponsor (Argyle Business Centre) is a Registered Charity whose profits are reinvested in regeneration
